JOHN R. GIBSON, MBChB, MRCP (UK), FRCP (Glasgow) is President and CEO of Orange County companies Healthwise International, Inc. and Jangus Music, Inc.; and Investor In/Fundraiser for a portfolio of seven start-ups. He has previously been President and Chairman of the BABC-OC and is currently the Chairman of the Commerce Committee. He also serves on the BritWeek Committee and the OCTANe Leadership Council. He received his medical degree from Glasgow University in 1973, and subsequently trained in general medicine, infectious diseases and pediatrics in Zimbabwe and the UK .
John has a passion for drug development, medicine and entrepreneurialism. He was appointed Honorary Consultant Dermatologist at the Royal London Hospital in 1982, has three decades of international experience in all aspects of drug development with three major pharmaceutical companies (Wellcome, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Allergan), and a record of product approvals worldwide in dermatology, ophthalmology and neurology, with experience in oncology, allergy and anti-infectives, including anti-virals. He was the Senior VP of Global Development at Allergan in Irvine for 15 years, and also served as Volunteer Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of California at Irvine.
